Copperhead Adult Recognition of Excellence in Scouting (CARES) Award

Many Scouters have a tremendous impact upon Scouting in their unit but are not well known throughout the district. Their work is very important and directly affects the quality of Scouting in our district. The CARES Award recognizes individuals who have excelled in serving youth on a unitlevel. Each unit may nominate one individual for a CARES award. Units with over 50 registered youth may nominate a second individual. Nominees must be currently registered in Scouting and fully trained for their position. The unit is responsible for inviting the nominee to the District Dinner without revealing that the nominee is receiving the award. The unit should also ensure enough unit leaders attend to properly honor the nominee. Awards are presented at the district dinner.
